Our Next Science Unit Is....

Properties and Changes in Matter!

We will spend the next few weeks looking at the three states of matter and how they can be changed.  It would be great if you could visit your local library and take out some books about experiments that deal with changes in matter.  Do some and home and then bring in your results to share with the class.  We will be doing a few experiments ourselves, so we may need some items from home.  If we do, we will ask for those later.

Here are our learning goals for the unit:

·                     Learn about the three states of matter;

·                     Learn how matter can be changed and what that change looks like;

·                     Know what changes of matter are reversible and which ones are not;

·                     Identify some properties of matter;

·                     Identify some changes of state and what a physical or chemical change is;

·                     Use science terminology correctly (e.g.,matter, change, physical, chemical)
